What a Long (not that strange) Trip!

So, right after the July 4 holiday, I flew off to San Diego with the hubs (after dropping the kids off with gramma) for a week-long business trip/vaca!

Day 1 included a fun co-write with some friends in Southern California.  It's a catchy tune we wrote with ads in mind, and it's in production now.  Hoping that this may be the first sync placement I'm involved with!  My co-writers both have more experience than me, so I was glad to get to work with, and learn from them!

Over the rest of the week, I traipsed around the city while hubs attended conference sessions (and still only saw a fraction of it).  Highlights included: seeing seals & pups at La Jolla Cove;  the San Diego Maritime Museum & the USS Midway Museum;  Hiking a slot canyon in Anza Borrego Desert State Park (at 6am... on a day where temps of 114 were predicted... Was only in the low 80's when we hiked though);  A (more commercial/touristy than we thought) walking tour over the Mexican border into Tijuana;  A brief visit with family once back at Gramma's house.  Then, after driving the 4 hours from Gramma's back to our house, I drove my daughter another hour or so to girl scout camp...

After such an eventful & exhausting week, I slept in, today, and am psyched to get back into playing songs at tonight's AcoustiCafe!  Hoping to finally get to Hambone's Tuesday night open stage soon, as well.

UP NEXT:  recording the new co-write song from Cali;  recording and prepping new songs for an EP release (hopefully this year)
